Description

Our previous vintages of Bee Pink have been a sell out and it’s now a firm favourite for our wine club members. We've made 3000 bottles from this vintage, but judging by the sales from previous years, you’ll need to be quick!
It’s made in the Provence style – very pale in colour, but with plenty of delicate fruit flavours.

Eyes

An attractive delicate pale pink.

Nose

Very rich aromas this year, with an abundance of white peach, and a suggestion of raspberry

Mouth

Bone dry and very refreshing, with crisp, mouthwatering freshness, and charming summer fruit salad, raspberry, nectarine and sweet melon

Body

light

Winemaking Notes

Our friend Jean-Marc Lafage (who owns Chateau St Roch, near Maury, where we make our red wine) is one of the Roussillon’s finest rosé producers. He has allowed us to work with some of his Grenache, Grenache Gris and Syrah grapes to produce our own Bee Pink.

Growing Conditions

2020 was a year marked by an extremely wet spring with intermittent rain throughout the early summer creating uncharacteristic problems with damp humid conditions. Nevertheless, by the time summer finally arrived, with a lot of moisture in the soil, the vines grew like crazy, and produced a good-sized crop of extremely tasty grapes.

I love the labels of Domaine of the Bee. At first glance, simple; second glance, interesting; third glance, seriously complex. A bit like this rosé! Pale pink. Smells of raspberry granita. Tastes like oyster shells filled with that raspberry granita. Then there is a touch of borage, of gentle apple mint, of alpine strawberries. Then a nudge of chamois-leather texture. Then spice. Caraway, ground coriander, a little bit of cumin. Mmm, I’m thinking smoked lamb, or bresaola, or aubergine timballo… (TC) 12.5%
